The Author
Ilya Tsaryuk
Ilya Tsaryuk writes at the border where memory becomes myth and machines begin to dream. Born in Ukraine, shaped by cities that no longer exist the way he remembers them, he builds worlds from the wreckage of the real — futures that feel inherited rather than invented.
If there's one thread that weaves through the story of his life, it's curiosity for how things work. From a young age, captivated by the world of crafting, making, engineering, and programming. This fascination led down a path of exploration and discovery, one that has shaped both career and personal passions.
The journey in the world of programming began in school, where code quickly became more than just lines of text — it was the language of creation and problem-solving. This passion for technology steered toward academia, years spent unraveling the mysteries of systems engineering and contributing to the body of knowledge that drives our world forward.
However, interests are not confined to the tangible. In 2001, fascination took a turn towards the ephemeral world of dreams, inspired by the enigmatic works of Carlos Castaneda. His books opened eyes to the vast landscapes that lie just beyond our waking life, leading to two years dedicated to researching the borders of dreams. It was during this time, in a state suspended between reality and the vast unknown, that the Hitchhiker was found.
A Hitchhiker, lost and far from home, stranded on our planet and in search of connection. Their paths crossed, and in the days they spent together, she shared the stories of her people — tales that span dimensions and worlds beyond our comprehension. Through her eyes, our own world appeared in a new light, and it is this perspective that is now shared with you.
